Update on the Spencer Street Rehabilitation

In this post, Councillor Leiper has shared news about the upcoming changes and additions to the Spencer Street Rehabilitation plan. Raised intersections, painted bike lanes, and additional sidewalks are all welcome news. We are grateful for Councillors Leiper, Egli, and City Staff for their work on this complex project.

Spencer Street Rehabilitation

The City has notified us that the Spencer Street rehabilitation will occur this summer, not 2017 as originally planned.

Wellington Village is a vibrant Ottawa neighbourhood bounded by Island Park Drive to the west, Scott Street to the north, Holland Avenue to the east and the Queensway to the south. Tree lined streets, red brick facades, great schools, and a main street of independent businesses, food shops and artisans have helped turn this area into one of Ottawa’s most enjoyable communities. Most amenities are within walking distance, with plenty of green spaces for all residents to enjoy and easy access to the Ottawa River. The new LRT station at Tunney’s Pasture connects Wellington Village to the downtown and beyond in minutes.
