Pre-Registration Is Open! WVCA Annual General Meeting- Thursday, October 15th

Greetings Wellington Village!

It's official, our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held virtually, using Google Meets, on Thursday, October 15th, 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The meeting will be opened at 6:45pm to allow community members time to join.

Everyone is welcome. Please encourage your neighbours and friends to attend! (Psst...In case you're not sure, Wellington Village is bordered by Scott Street to the Queensway, and Island Park Drive to Holland Avenue.)

Pre-registration (free) is required to receive the meeting link. Please register here:

This year's theme is CHANGE. There certainly has been lots of it! We have the following guests who will speak about changes in our neighbourhood and in our city:

Jeff Leiper, Councillor for the Kitchissippi Ward;
Joel Harden, MPP for Ottawa Centre; and
Dennis Van Staalduinen, Executive Director for the Wellington West Business Improvement Area (WWBIA).

You see it everywhere. Change is happening all around us. From the major developments popping up in Kitchissippi to how our local businesses have had to change the way they do business due to COVID-19. The WVCA Board is undergoing changes as well and WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Sadly, we have a few dedicated Board members who will be leaving us soon as they are moving outside of the neighbourhood. We're looking for motivated people to join the Board and volunteer their time to issues which concern our community. Please join us on October 15th and consider putting up your hand to join the WVCA.

We're in great need of new members for Communications (i.e. meeting notes, emails, etc.), and a Web Master (i.e. updating newsletter and website). Don't worry if that's not for you. We also need members who will be engaged on a number of issues (i.e. development, roads & safety, community events, etc.) so please tell us what interests you most. NOW is the time to be a part of your COMMUNITY.

We hope to see you on October 15th!

Sincerely,

Kimberly Patriquin
(Current) President of the Wellington Village Community Association (WVCA)
