Next Meeting: Monday, November 2nd at 7:30pm

Hello Wellington Village!

We hope that you're adjusting to the colder temperatures and are cozying up at home. Thank you to those of you who attended our first virtual AGM on October 15th. If you missed it, we had a great turnout with a total of 30 attendees and a very interesting discussion about "change". The meeting began with a presentation from the WVCA on who we are, what we've done and our vision for the future. We also discussed membership (for more information please refer to our last post about how you can join or maintain your membership by sending a donation via Paypal or e-transfer) and elected a new Board. We explained to attendees that due to some members of the Board moving out of the neighbourhood, we are in need to fill important positions on the Board. Attendees also heard from guest speakers Jeff Leiper and Dennis Van Staaduinen on the changes we've seen and will continue to see in our neighbourhood, in our ward and in our city. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly affected many of our local businesses and we encourage residents to do what they can to continue to show them our support. Although Joel Harden wasn't able to join us in the end, he sent his regrets by way of a video message.

Even though we elected our Board for 2020/2021, we are always in need of active members who are eager to work on issues so please contact us if you are interested in specific topics or if you have any questions for us. To contact the WVCA please send us an email at: president@wvca.ca.

As always, everyone is welcome to join our meetings. Since we can no longer meet in person, we'll be meeting online for the foreseeable future. Our next meeting will take place over Google Meets on Monday, November 2nd at 7:30pm.

In addition to discussing issues concerning the neighbourhood we'll be selecting people to fill vacant Board positions including the following: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Webmaster. We hope to see you next Monday. To join, please click on the link below:

Membership fees help support the Wellington Village Community Association!

Membership fees go a long way in helping the WVCA operate!

The Wellington Village Community Association (WVCA) represents residents who live in the area from Scott Street to the Queensway, and Island Park to Holland Avenue. When you become a member of the WVCA, your voting right provides you with a voice in the growth, development and maintenance of your community. The WVCA Board meets regularly (approximately once a month) to stay informed about ongoing issues. All members are invited to attend these meetings.

The WVCA has a website, distributes an electronic newsletter to members, and sends out timely emails when items of concern or interest to the community arise.

The WVCA also sponsors periodic forums about specific issues in the community. Your dues are put towards the cost of running these events. The suggested membership fee is a very nominal cost to ensure the Wellington Village community continues to be one of the most desirable places to live in all of Ottawa.

Membership is only $5 per year (though a $10 contribution for a two-year membership is encouraged!).

To become a member you have two options to pay membership fees:

1) You can send an e-transfer to president@wvca.ca; or

2) You can send a payment using Paypal! Click the button below to make your contribution!

Upon payment, you will receive a confirmation email back from the President of the WVCA confirming your membership in the WVCA!
