Next WVCA Board Meeting: Thursday, November 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Hello Wellington Village!

The WVCA Board is having a second November meeting to continue to build momentum going forward. We will be discussing a handful of issues and updates, but also diving deeper on a few things we are working on to build up membership, clarify our mandate/role, and (hopefully) put on a WVCA-sponsored even or two in the coming months.

As always, everyone is welcome to join our meetings. Since we can no longer meet in person, we'll be meeting online for the foreseeable future. Our next meeting will take place over Google Meet on Thursday, November 26th at 7:30pm.

The future of Scott Street - Webinar 25 November!

From Councillor Jeff Leiper's Newsletter:

Public Meeting: Scott Street Pedestrian, Cycling, Placemaking Update

On Wednesday, Nov. 25, our office will be hosting an online webinar where staff will outline changes coming to Scott Street in the coming years.

With LRT Stage 1 construction behind us and Stage 2 in full swing, Scott Street has and will continue to see many changes. In 2021 construction of the Scott Street bus detour will begin. Once completed, buses will use Scott Street until Stage 2 construction is finished in the Transitway.

Staff in our Transportation Planning department have taken this opportunity to rethink what Scott Street will look like once all the construction is behind us, specifically in terms of pedestrian and cycling facilities and placemaking opportunities. They will be presenting their plan on what Scott Street will look like from the intersection of Churchill through to Bayview Station.

We hope you can join us to see the plan and take part in the conversation.

We (the WVCA) will be attending the meeting, and invite our interested residents to also attend. The Zoom teleconference details can be found at Jeff Leiper's website at:
