#BudgetSpeak 2017

We wanted to make you aware that this year, we are again hosting a #BudgetSpeak session alongside Councillors Chernushenko, Fleury, McKenney and Nussbaum.


Following a similar format to last years’ event, this session will consist of short plenary presentations with opportunities to provide input on four themes:


  • Winter walkability and accessibility

  • Arts, culture and music

  • Social services and housing

  • Reducing our carbon footprint

The session will be held on Tuesday, October 17 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm here at Jean Pigott Hall (110 Laurier Ave W).

Regulations for Snow Plow Driveway Markers

From the City of Ottawa:
On June 27, 2017, we let you know that the City was looking to formalize the rules for snow plow driveway markers, and you were invited to provide feedback on the current guidelines under the existing pilot program.

We have reviewed the feedback received during the public consultations and developed recommendations that will go to the Community and Protective Services Committee (CPSC) for approval on August 31, 2017.

A copy of the report will be publicly available on ottawa.ca late in the day on August 24, 2017.   You will be able to access it on the Council and Committee Meetings page by clicking on the August 31 CPSC meeting agenda under “Documents” and then on the report link in the agenda.

NCC Consultation: Responsible management of Gatineau Park trails

This public consultation will present the plan for the renewed trail network, which takes into consideration the type of experience that Park users are seeking, as well as the environmental obligations that the NCC must meet.

Right of Way Patio By-law Review

From the City of Ottawa:
In 2015, in conjunction with a report to Transportation Committee, City staff was asked to develop a stand-alone patio by-law that would address encroachment issues, and better incorporate patio and sidewalk design standards. Phase 1 was completed in May 2016 with staff asking for feedback on a backgrounder paper

Sharing information, tips, eyes on the street, and collaboration between community and law enforcement makes for safer and more secure neighbourhoods.
