Community Meeting To Discuss Convent Site Plan

From HICG:

As we have previously advised the Community, the Site Plan approval process for the Soeurs de la Visitation Convent site is now underway with comments due from the public by September 5, 2011. Our councillor has confirmed that she is not planning to hold any public meetings in this regard but welcomes direct comments from the community.

Given the complexity of the Site Plan and the questions that many people have with respect to the Plan, the Hampton Iona Community Group has decided that it is important that the community have as much information as possible regarding the site plan, its impact and the approval process.

As such, HICG will be holding a public community meeting to discuss the site Site Plan. The meeting will be held on Tuesday August 30 at 7:00 pm at St. George's Church -Parish Hall (415 Picadilly Avenue).

We have invited representatives from Ashcroft Homes and from the City's Planning Department to attend the meeting and to be available to present the Plan and answer questions. At this time, they have not yet confirmed if they will attend.

As well, we are pleased to advise that Hampton Iona's Planner, Catherine Gravely of Sorensen Gravely Lowes Planning Associates Inc will be attending the meeting. She will be assisting us in our understanding of the plan, the impact on the community and how potential issues that we might have should be addressed. Ms. Gravely will also be available to answer any questions that we might have with respect to our recent OMB challenge and settlement.

If you have any questions about the meeting, please do not hesitate to contact us.
