The Happening Festival 2019

The WVCA is happy to help promote the Happening Festival which runs from Friday, May 24th to Saturday, June 1st, 2019.
The Happening celebrates and promotes businesses, the arts and the community of Wellington West – from Island Park to the Bayview Bridge.

Festivities start with a launch party on Friday, May 24th at Vimy Brewing Company, 7pm and closes with The Happening ArtsPark on Saturday, June 1st in Parkdale Park, 10am to 10pm.

AGM: Annual General Meeting 2019

The WVCA will be holding their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, May 21 in room #112 at Fisher Park School, 7pm-9pm.


We will be hosting a panel discussion with MPP for Ottawa Centre- Joel Harden, Councillor for the Kitchissippi Ward- Jeff Leiper and Executive Director of the Wellington West Business Improvement Area (BIA)- Dennis Van Staalduinen

Jane's Walk: The Streetcar & the Circus Tent: Wellington Village: Saturday, May 4, 2pm-4pm

Did you know that May marks the 100th anniversary of Wellington Village? On saturday, May 4th from 2pm-4pm join WWBIA Exective Director, Dennis Van Staalduinen, and local historian, Dave Allston, as they bring you on a journey through time.

Cleaning the Capital: Saturday, May 4, 9:00am-10:30am

Rain date- May 4: The Hintonburg Community Association (HCC) and Wellington Village Community Association (WVCA) are hosting the annual Cleaning the Capital event. Registration is at the Hintonburg Community Centre (1064 Wellington Street West) from 9:00am-10:30am. The event goes until 12pm.

Coffee provided by Cyclelgik and prizes for children provided by Giant Tiger.

Kitchissippi Ward Forum: Monday, April 15, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Our councillor, Jeff Leiper, will be hosting his next Ward Forum at the Van Lang Field House (29 Van Lang Pvt) on Monday, April 15, 6:00-8:00pm. The WVCA will provide an update on recent activity. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Superette Meeting: March 31

Our Councillor, Jeff Leiper, is hosting an open house to discuss the opening of one of the first (legal) cannabis stores in Ottawa, Superette, to be located at 1306 Wellington St. West.

The open house will take place at the Hintonburg Community Centre

2019 marks the 100th anniversary of Wellington Village! The WVCA is proud to be working with the Wellington West Business Improvement Area (WWBIA) on some exciting events this May and June to celebrate the occasion.
