Celebrating Wellington Village's 100th Anniversary

Thank you to everyone who attended the 100th anniversary of Wellington Village celebration at Exposure Gallery (upstairs at Thyme & Again) on Saturday, June 22nd. The "sold-out" free event was organized by the Wellington West BIA and included a fascinating presentation from local historian and fellow WVCA board member- Dave Allston.

Local business, Canvas Pop, donated three prints as part of a silent auction which raised over $300 for St. Vincent de Paul. Local artist, Steffi Acevedo Art, was there selling her beautiful, limited-edition, Wellington Village pottery. You can purchase online, or order a custom piece until July 1st, at: https://steffiacevedoceramics.bigcartel.com/products

A highlight of the evening for the WVCA was receiving a commemorative frame from the City of Ottawa marking the 100th anniversary. Jeff Leiper, councilor for the Kitchissippi Ward, presented the frame on behalf of Mayor Watson who was unable to attend at the last minute, to Kimberly Patriquin, President of the WVCA.

Stay tuned for details about an unveiling happening in Wellington Village this summer- another way we're celebrating our 100th anniversary.
